About Sam Haan
I am an independent insurance broker helping individuals, families, and retirees navigate the often-confusing world of insurance and financial protection — with clarity, honesty, and no cost to you.
Sam Haan
Independent Insurance Broker · Haan Group LLC
Before becoming an insurance broker, I spent more than 15 years in social services and advocacy — helping people navigate complex systems, understand their options, and make decisions that were right for their lives.
That background shapes everything about how I work today. Insurance should be understandable, transparent, and tailored to each person's unique circumstances. My role is to help you make informed decisions and feel confident in the choices you make for yourself and your family.
As an independent broker, I work with a wide range of carriers — Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, ACA Marketplace, life insurance, final expense, long-term care, annuities, dental, vision, hearing, hospital indemnity, cancer, and heart attack/stroke coverage. Licensed in multiple states and able to assist clients nationwide.
And here's something most people don't realize: working with me costs you nothing. My compensation comes from a federally regulated commission paid by the insurance carriers upon enrollment and ongoing maintenance. That means my loyalty is earned through results — and the best compliment you can give me is a referral.
Once you are enrolled, I become your broker — your personal point of contact for as long as you remain in the plan. Questions about a bill, a coverage change, a plan review at renewal — you call me directly and you get me every time. No call centers, no hold queues, no getting passed around to someone who doesn't know your situation.
As a certified RSSA, I am trained specifically in Social Security rules, benefit calculations, and claiming strategies. This goes far beyond what most financial advisors or insurance professionals cover — and the difference between a well-planned strategy and a poorly timed claim can exceed $100,000 in lifetime benefits for a married couple.
RSSA services cover when to claim, spousal and survivor benefit strategies, divorced-spouse rights, SSDI transition planning, and how Social Security coordinates with Medicare and other retirement income.
Note on fees: Unlike insurance services — where Sam is paid a federally regulated commission by the carriers at no cost to you — RSSA / Social Security analysis is a fee-based professional service, priced per person or per couple. This keeps the advice completely independent of any product or enrollment.
How I Work
With more than 15 years in social services and advocacy, I approach every client relationship with an educator's mindset. My goal is to explain your options clearly, answer every question honestly, and make sure you feel confident — not pressured — in every decision.
I'm not captive to any single carrier. That means I can shop the market on your behalf and show you options you might never find on your own — Medicare Advantage, Supplement, Part D, ACA plans, annuities, and more. My recommendation is always based on what fits your life, not what pays the most.
Once you are enrolled, I become your broker — and your go-to resource for as long as you remain in the plan. Questions, billing issues, coverage changes, plan reviews — you call me directly and you get me every time. No call centers, no hold queues, no getting bounced around.
My commitment doesn't end at enrollment. Whether you're turning 65, retiring, losing employer coverage, or simply reviewing your benefits, I'm here before, during, and after — for as long as you need me.
A free, no-obligation conversation is the best place to start. Tell me about your situation and I'll help you figure out your next step.
